I was in a bar in Florida and they had an empty piano sitting there. In walked a very large Russian guy speaking broken English and he asked the bartender if he could play the piano. He started playing popular show tunes and no one was really paying attention to him . He seen me looking at him and he said to me what would you like to hear and I said I'm sure you don't know the music that I like and he replied try me. I said Pink Floyd. He started with Comfortably Numb and played about 10 songs by Floyd before he left. I asked the bartender who he was and he said I have no idea I've never seen him before. It was great almost like a ghost walked in ( kidding ) played Pink Floyd and then disappeared. It was an interesting night that I enjoyed immensely.
@@thegreenwave6741 As a matter of fact I bought him at least two drinks it could have been three but I'm not sure. But whatever it was I was glad to do it as I was thoroughly entertained and almost mesmerised by how great he sounded. I would have never thought you can play Floyd like that on the piano.
This channel is my comforting place where I go when life hits too hard. I spent months listening your Pink Floyd, Coldplay, Radiohead a Bowie covers when my brother passed away. Two years later my father passed away too and I am back here… because your music carries me thru the worst feelings of grief and loneliness. My heart is broken from being so sad and miserable. When I reach the point where I feel like I cant take it anymore I just go here and cry and cry for many hours while listening. Music heals my soul. Especially these songs because they are my, brother’s and father’s favorite. I could never express how thankful I am for sharing your work. It really means a lot. Thank you.
I must confess that at the beginning I was not quite sure where you were going, but then you BLEW MY MIND!....as usual awesome cover. Every detail is there...if Gilmour played the piano he would have done the same.
I love hands. The way they move, their shape, their curves and edges, their veins, their bone structure, their skin, the unique lines in the palms... I admire what they can do. Hands are beautiful, definitely my favorite human body part. Elegance in action.
You most likely won't see this after all these years, but I have to say, this is amazing. Most covers of songs with singing usually end up being: chords with left hand, singing melody played note-by-note with right hand. You on the other hand (pun unintended) implemented both, and more, perfectly, it doesn't sound sloppy at all. And you also paid attention to getting the reverbs right. I have no idea about music theory and such but if this isn't great musicianship, I don't know what is. Perfect arrangement. Sounded a lot like the original song, but of course with a different flavour. Like an original piano piece.

They cut to the core of what made that music amazing and so timeless. Thanks for your artistry Josh...
What begins as a soft slow burn transcends to a fantastic climax which gradually and seemingly effortlessly grinds back down to a soft and delicate finish. This song, just like the rest of your covers takes on a whole life of its own. Perfection at its finest. Thanks for sharing your talent with the world.
Inventive ending section, and I know how hard it is to make guitar bends sound right on a keyboard with fixed notes, but a great interpretation of a classic song. More like this please.
Thank you so much for that wonderful piece! I am seventeen and play the piano for 11 years. It always has "just" been a hobby, but during the last year I realized how much music gives me... At the moment I am very busy with school, but I am glad I find the time to play about 2 hours a day. You played Pink Floyd so beautiful, thanks for the wonderful 11 minutes!

I have loved all your Radiohead/Floyd/Bowie covers, I can tell we have very similar taste in music. But I was always hoping for a Comfortably Numb cover and now you have finally delivered. Bravo sir, this is absolutely stunning. No idea how you managed to play that Dave Gilmour solo on piano but by God you have done it.
I almost cried. This was like soft whispers of sweet nothings on a cozy winter night, fire crackling in distance, radiating heat ... increasing the euphoria of those silent exchanges. Reflecting in those eyes, as if they were about to cry..
As with all of your Pink Floyd, Radiohead and Bowie covers, you have truly managed to capture the full essence of this masterpiece. All the instruments and vocals, they are all represented somehow, and that is without a doubt the hardest thing about making a good piano cover. And you master it everytime. Just nod if you can hear me

I hear you're feeling down
I can ease your pain
Get you on your feet again
Relax
I'll need some information first
Just the basic facts
Can you show me where it hurts?
There is no pain you are receding
A distant ship's smoke on the horizon
You are only coming through in waves
Your lips move
But I can't hear what you're saying
When I was a child I had a fever
My hands felt just like
Two balloons
Now I've got that feeling once again
I can't explain
You would not understand
This is not how I am
I... Have become comfortably numb
O. K.
Just a little pin prick
There'll be no more aaaaaaaah!
But you may feel a little sick
Can you stand up?
I do believe it's working
Good
That'll keep you going through the show
Come on
It's time to go
There is no pain you are receding
A distant ship's smoke on the horizon
You are only coming through in waves
Your lips move
But I can't hear what you're saying
When I was a child
I caught a fleeting glimpse
Out of the corner of my eye
I turned to look but it was gone
I cannot put my finger on it now
The child is grown
The dream is gone
I... Have become comfortably numb
